Man! What an awesome service at Rockbridge in Dalton. Pastor Matt Evans is a great communicator. God has really anoited my friend. I really enjoyed the service because he spoke with conviction and didn't waiver in speaking the truth. Thank you Matt for being an awesome example for all to follow. If you want to hear what I'm talking about got to his website where you can listen. He is a link on this blog.

Traveling Office

Right now my office is my car. For some reason I can't talk anyone into a tax deduction for the use of office space like Gary Lamb so as it stands I use Linda's Resteraunt in the morning from 7:30-9:00 the library from 9:10- 11:00 sometimes 12:00 and then lunch somewhere and around 12:30 the Park down town and in the afternoon and Hometowne Pizza from 3:00-5:00 the use of internet hard to get in the area but Hometown and the liberary both have wireless connections. I can't wait to get a office but on a positive note I'm out in the community meeting new people everyday. Send your advice if you have any!

Faith and Finance

Faith is belief in action! It takes faith to live Gods mission for your life. If I've got myself caught up in the everyday mindset that "Everything has got to be lined up just perfect before I step out ."I don't think anything would ever get accomplished. I don't believe their is much faith involved. Faith is steping out in the realm of the unknown. Look at Peter on the water who in there right mind would step out on water during a storm. When we step out thats when Jesus shows up. This year it has been amazing how God has showed up in many different ways. If it wasn't for God we would not be planting a church but it all starts with our obedience to him. He has used many people to answer our prayers and there support has allowed us to continue to reach the unchurched. Thanks to all of you for your support and the kingdom mindset that you have for making an differance. There are many examples in the Bible of Gods people supporting His work so don't think for a second that your support doesn't mean much because it does. Many people will come to know Him because of you. God will continue to provide because thats what He does. If you do not support a Kingdom Focus right now your missing a huge blessing. A Blessing that advances the Kingdom.

Time is Ticking Down!

Time is ticking down as the launch team grows more excited than ever to reach out to the community. We are getting ready to send out about 10,000 mailers to the community and are praying that people will respond to it. We are ready this has been a year and a half for me as I have been in the preparation stage of planting a church that honors God by reaching out to the lost in the community. Yes we are different compared to the traditional church. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result is a true sign of insanity. We still teach truth! That being Jesus! The only way to heaven is by having a relationship with Jesus! Our goal is to be different always and if you try to put us in a box we will climb out every time. Our goal as a church is to reach the unchurched. Well let me explain unchurched is anyone that is not fulfilling the purpose that God has intended for them in the body of his church. Churched doesn't mean that they attend a local congregation. It means they are a active part of the body. The people seating on the pew warming it is no more churched than the man on the moon. Think about it if all they do is sit there Satan doesn't even need to attack them. Just letting them coast keeps them from challenging his (Satans) work. So who is our target? Our target is anyone that is not making an eternal difference. So we can reach them with a relationship and put them on mission to leave behind a legacy when this life is over. That being living a life now that makes a difference for eternity.

First Day of School !

Today was my son Nathan's first day of school a new school, new friends, and new teachers WOW! I can only imagine how he must feel today walking around unfamilar territory. Man kind of sounds like a guest at church. Walking in like a deer in headlight we made our way to his room checked in with his teacher and the faculty and staff at Eastside Elemetary were great to welcome him and let him know that he was going to be fine and that they were excited for him to be there. It even made me feel better and i'm not the one thats going to be going to school. Thumbs Up to Eastside for making my son feel at home.

Remember !

So many times we go through life never remembering the life that God has given us and the favor He has placed on our lives. Uzziah is a greaty example of a man with Gods favor and how he got the big head and thought it was all about him. Well you know how the story goes uzziah loses Gods favor because he was too proud. I pray that Cross View will always stays focused and seeks God. So many times churches forget what gets them started and everything just becomes normal and the people stop seeking God. I pray that we will always be a God seeking church that allows him to be in control instead of us.

Preview Service

It was great this past Sunday just to give some people a sneak peak of the church. We had about 120 in attendance. It was amazing as we started off with a switchfoot song " We were meant to live for so much more",and how you could see the mixed emotions as if to say" Is this church?"
Then we went into "Blessed be the name of the Lord" the music was great and I can't wait to see the people that come just from the response of the preview guest. We decided to bring it on the first Sunday so that people would know that we were going to be alittle more edgy than the normal church, and that we were there to reach young families with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I taught throught the dialog of Jesus's last words from the Garden to the Great Commission it was great to teach in such a way that people would know what you stand for. "That being Jesus". Some may not have liked the music but they left knowing that we preach Christ. Our next series we will launch with a high definition living series and teach about the abundant life that God wants to give us now. If you are checking out this blog come check us out on September 10th at 10:15am
